Wedding in California

Paul's good friend Robert got married this past weekend to Robin. Thankfully, we were both able to go out together. The kids were wonderfully cared for by Rhonda, Pam & Dick and Craig & Tiffany! We flew out early Friday morning and landed in San Francisco at 9:30 CA time. I wanted to make sure I got IN & Out Burger so we went to the first one we saw...at opening 10:30!

The wedding was in Paso Robles, about a 3.5 hour drive south of San Francisco. It has a rich history and lots of wineries. I would classify it as a less busy Napa/Sonoma area. We drove down and enjoyed the beautiful California scenery. We made it in time to get ready for the rehearsal and enjoyed meeting a lot of Robert & Robin's friends and family. The rehearsal dinner was at Robin's sisters. It was nice to be able to be outside at the end of September. In fact, it was a bit hot that night! The backyard with the twinkling lights reminded of the backyard on Brothers & Sisters.

Saturday, we were up by 6:30 CA time (8:30 MN time). We enjoyed the morning together, had breakfast out, found a lake to walk around and toured downtown. I was able to find a bistro in the central square to have lunch as Paul was having lunch with all the guys. Made it to the wedding on time and enjoyed a beautiful ceremony, topped off with Robert ringing the church bells! Hit up a Mexican restaurant for a beer with all the ushers & groomsmen and then made it Robert Hall winery for the reception. It was a gorgeous outdoor setting. The weather wasn't very cooperative though. Very windy at the cocktail hour and pretty chilly as the sun began to set. Had Paul's jacket to keep me warm (as most women used too) and danced until the party was over! First dance that had me grooving was PYT!  Was happy to dance to "Born this Way" and "On the Floor" too!  I MISS ZUMBA!  At 10, the reception ended and they had a party bus to go to an after party at a club in downtown.  Didn't last long there.  Sunday, got up and head to head home.  2 traveling days and 1 beautiful wedding.  We were so happy to share in Robert & Robin's special day!

Chips & Beer time for the guys
At the winery for cocktail hour. The wind was blowing like crazy in this area and it was more than a bit chilly. We sought relief in the tasting room.
