Friday, we braved the subway from JFK airport and got off at the Times Square stop. Amazing to arrive in the city for the first time from the subway. We grabbed pizza lunch, took the subway to visit Paul's co-workers that work in the city, toured Chinatown and Little Italy. We also saw grand central station, had gelato and visited the library. We had a great dinner before Wicked. Wicked was amazing. Loved every minute and was sad to have it end. We visited Times Square that night as well :)
Saturday, had an AWESOME breakfast with crunchy french toast and banana macadamia nut pancakes. We did the NBC tours and visited the top of the Rock. Had lunch at Carnegie Deli and then stood in line for tickets for that night. We didn't get our 1st or 2nd choice (Spiderman and Rock of Ages) but ended up seeing Godspell which was right next to the Wicked theater. That was a completely opposite experience-with a small round a bout theater and the band among the audience. We grabbed dinner at an Italian restaurant before and had cheesecake after the show.
Sunday, we went on the Stanton Island Ferry and got to see the Statue of Liberty. We also walked around wall street, the world trade center. We had to get a trip in to see Central park before we left as well! Toured a bit, got one more bit of street food at the waffle truck and had lunch at Trump Tower. Before leaving, we visited FAO Schwartz & walked by Tiffany & Co.
It was a wonderful weekend and a great time away for the two of us. A huge thank you to Paul's parents for manning our children.
