July 4th-Green Lake

After much needed rests for the kids and packing up, we headed to Green Lake to spend the rest of the 4th weekend. We were fortunate enough to spend time there with Craig, Tiff and the kids too (who were testing out their new motor home). Paul's uncle Bruce was also in town for the weekend. Sunday night, we enjoyed a grilled turky dinner and playing in the water with the kids. Alex continued his fear of the lake and didn't want to participate. Kids settled in for some movie time that night while some of the adults watched fireworks on the lake. It was relatively easy to get the kids to sleep after a long weekend. That also meant it was relatively easy to get a game of hand and foot in between paul's family and us. Craig, Wayne and I had an epic comeback win and we enjoyed the time together that we haven't really had since the kids were born.

Sunday morning after breakfast pizza, all of us headed to the park to give Paul's mom & dad some P&Q. It was a bit hot for the walk and too muggy at the park so we weren't there that long and the kids complained most of the trip.

A lot of Paul's family, my mom and Tiffany's sister & kids came over to celebrate the holiday later that day. We enjoyed lots of time in the water. Grandma Mattson had the magic touch to get Alex in--ring around the rosie and 1-2-3--Blastoff. By the end of the day, he was jumping in with virtually no help!!
