Alex turns a week old tonight, close to midnight. So far he's a very good baby. He's not feeding very well though. The week was full of visits to the pediatrician, the lactation consultant and a good old tongue clipping on Thursday morning. It appears my genetic defect that I have passed onto both of my kids has been a short tongue. Paul's letting this little imperfection slide, but says he'll screen his next wife better. We've been supplementing with formula and pumped milk until he can get stronger and possibly better at eating. We'll check in again next week with the doctor and lactation consultant to see how we'll proceed.
