The Mattsons: First Cabin Weekend

It was Memorial Day weekend so it was time for our first trip to the cabin. Since I had Katie's shower Saturday morning, Paul took the kids up to Green Lake on Friday night for some good grandma/grandpa time. Craig, Tiff, Katelyn & Brooklyn came up Saturday for the day too. The boys got the lift & boat in the lake and the kids had fun running around after each other.

Unfortunately, Alex was a bit out of sorts during the weekend. It didn't help that he wasn't getting much sleep because when they're in the same room together they like to laugh & talk to each other.

We were able to go on the first boat ride at Green Lake Sunday morning with Grandma & Grandpa. After that, we packed up and headed to Deer Lake for the rest of the weekend. Over the course of the weekend, we were able to see all the Andrews family, although all at different times, even Jodi & Jeremy from Utah! The weather was fabulous on Sunday, but very windy Monday. Anna & I went on the firsts boat ride of the season at Deer Lake, with brave skiiers. We went out later that night, but the boat stopped working (we have pictures of us rowing as we sang "row row row your boat"). It turned out the emergency cord got accidentally knocked loose!

It was a great weekend with family, as usual. We're so lucky to have such great places to spend as a family and look forward to a fun summer.

What weekend at Deer Lake with Katie & Jodi would be complete without making rice Krispie bars. Anna has learned the art of eating hot rice krispies out of the pan!
