Alex Updates
Alex had a big day yesterday...first off he slept for us until 5-5:30 this AM! Maybe there's hope for us soon with our sleeping. Then, we brought him to the U of M Fairview area for his ENT/Audiology appointment. He weighed in at 13 pounds, 7 ounces! For those that don't know, we met with the ENT at Park Nicollet (where Anna had her tubes) in June and got referred to the U of M because they won't do anyone as little as Alex. Last time we were at Park in the beginning of June and yesterday he didn't pass a pressure test in his ears which indicates there's fluid in the ears. The childrens ENT we met with yesterday said she wants to put Alex under, take out the fluid, possibly give him tubes and then they'll do another hearing test called an ABR while he's under. We don't have it scheduled yet, but it could be as soon as a week from Monday, but it will definitely be before the end of the month. I'm nervous our little guy has to go under, but relieved we finally have a sense of purpose. I know now, too, how important it is to have full hearing in this critical stage of development and they just don't want to waste any more time figuring something out.
