Anna's Birthday Day

Anna's birthday fell on a Friday. For some reason, the night before her birthday, Anna found her tiara and jewelry from when she was in Katie's wedding and wanted to wear it for her special day. Of course! I also happened to notice her precious pooh blanket was missing-not a good feeling on the day before her birthday.

Since her birthday also happened to be the same day we had to get out of house for 36 hours for a stain/seal on our hardwood flooring, we planned a day of fun and then it was roofing weekend at the cabin. Paul took the day off after the kids & I went to ECFE (Anna got to make a birthday sign in sibling care). We headed to the MOA for a day of fun as a family. First stop was lunch at Tucci Bennuch. Anna & Alex enjoyed buttered noodles. Anna likes to show how old she is now that she's 4!!

Then, it was time for rides. Ferris Wheel & Merry-Go-Round

Anna got to do some rides on her own--including this bumper car one But, she preferred to go with Daddy anyway.

Some rides, we were all able to enjoy-including this train ride. Alex loved to say "choo choo".

After the MOA, we brought Anna to slumberland to show her that she was going to be getting a big girl bed for her birthday. The kids just liked playing on the beds. We also hit pottery barn kids to get some decorations for her room, including some bed spread options. After all the shopping, it was time for dinner. We hit Byerly's by Kristin's house (since Anna & I were staying there that night, while Alex & Paul headed up to Deer Lake). By the time dinner was over, we went over to Kiki's (where she had lots of signs and more treats for the birthday girl). The kids had a cupcake. After Paul & Alex left, Anna got all snuggled up in bed and fell asleep by 7:30 while I enjoyed peace & quiet at Kiki's house (she was at the twins game).

It's hard to believe my little girl is 4. She has grown into such a little lady. Her favorite things are watching Word World, movies, and playing. And, she sings almost all the time. Sometimes she makes up songs, sometimes she sings music from Sound of Music or Mamma Mia. She has great tone and I just love to hear her music. She's been wearing glasses since the first of the year and doing patch therapy for 2 hours since end of February. Neither of these has stopped her from being confident and assured of herself. She loves going to day care and playing with her best friends, which is most often Emily. But, her favorite person is her little brother. Watching them play together is one of the best things I get to do every day. She can identify a lot of letters, write her name and spell everyone's names in our family. She's such a litle smartie! She's starting to learn how to add and can count pretty decently to twenty. We're still working on potty training with her. She's started to train at night as well pretty successfully.
