Duluth Weekend

Last Monday, our Denmark family arrived! Paul's former nanny for a couple summers and her family have become part of our extended family. Anne Marie, Frank and their kids Christian (age 13), Mads (turning 11 in Sept.) and baby Julie (born Oct. 30) arrived safe and sound. We were able to see them last Monday night for dinner and again for a twins game on Wednesday. Unfortunately, the Twins didn't win for Anna's first game, but we have a cute picture! Friday, we headed up to Green Lake for the night before our big excursion. Saturday morning, 10 adults/older kids and 3 babies in 3 cars set off for Duluth! It was quite a caravan. We stopped at Tobbies for lunch and were first introduced to how difficult it was to get 3 high chairs and 10 seats together! We stopped again at Spirit Mountain for beautiful views of the St. Louis River, Lake Superior and Duluth. We drove along the scenic highway into Duluth. We all stayed at the Sheraton in Downtown, near Canal park. We explored Canal park and watched the lift bridge. We all had dinner at Pickwicks near our hotel. Anna decided to play peek-a-boo with the tablecloth after being so good eating out all day. Sunday morning wasn't very nice in Duluth. We all went out for Perkins, an adventure as we crammed into 2 booths. We hung out in the hotel most of the afternoon, as the babies needed good sleep in beds. Anna napped with Katelyn and here she is getting moved back to our room in her "cell". That night, we went out to Old Chicago and Anna was introduced to the big cookie!
Here's all of us on the way back on the boardwalk.
Monday was nicer in Duluth so we decided to head up to Gooseberry Falls.
