CA Vacation

We left for our family vacation on Friday the 12th.  We went to San Diego for the week and got to spend a day up at Disney California Adventure too (right across from disneyland).

We flew in Friday and immediately had In & Out burger for lunch!  Hung around our resort (Bahia) and had dinner at Casa Guadalajara in old Town with a bigger than life sangria.

Saturday was zoo day!  We were there from open to close!  We enjoyed the guided bus tour and used the bus to get around as much as possible because it has extreme terrain.  Saw lots of animals-favorites were the pandas, koahlas and hippos.  Ended the night at Miguel's-a great mexican restaurant.

Sunday was a chill day.  We hung out on Mission bay and met up with our family JD, Kristina and Tanner (2.5).  We just played in the water and all got to try paddleboarding too.  Had lunch nearby at MXN-fast food Mexican.  After lunch, we hung out at home for a while and got pool time in.  Then, we ate pizza in Pacific Beach area at Woodstocks pizza.  Capped off the night with a complimentary trip on the Bahia Breeze (part of our resort) in the nightime bay.

Monday was seaworld day.  We were there from open to close!  We enjoyed rides, animals, meeting elmo & zoe and the wonderful shows.  Anna got to try out her first real rollar coaster since she was officially over 48".  The manta was a hit and she sat in the front row twice and rode it 3 times!  We ended the night that night at a fast food mexican restaurant-Rubios.  Had fish tacos and reminised about fish tacos on our honeymoon and toasted to almost 10 years!

Tuesday was Disney day-and Anna's 1/2 birthday (This was the best day ever!!  according to her)  Had to get up and go and leave by 7 to get there close to opening at 9.  Takes about 90-120 min from San Diego which wasn't horrible but not ideal either.  We hit up California Adventure and we did it well!  Cars land was amazing.  They have created a little city that looks like Radiator Springs.  We tried the new ride, but it was a 2 hour wait so we got fast passes for that which also had a long line.  Paul got the fast passes and we got to meet Mater!  We also got in rides for Toy Story Mania, CA Screaming (an upside down coaster) with Anna, Goofy's sky school, & Mickey's wheel.  Also went to Disney Junior Live, cars rides: Mater's tractor tow and luigi's flying tires, saw the pixar parade and went to the radiator springs racers rides which was the highlight of the day.  A race in a car like mcQueen going through the country and racing.  We had dinner at Ariel's Grotto with the princesses-Anna loved it! Alex was scared to meet the princesses.  We capped off the night with Tower of Terror, the World of Color show and shopping so that we were one of the last ones back to the parking lot (hint:they never close down the shops when the park closes so why not save it until the end)

Wednesday was a much more laid back day.  Had breakfast at the resort, went to the Midway Museum, an aircraft carrier.  Did nap, homework, and pool before hitting La Jolla sunset and dinner at a quaint little cafe.

Thursday morning we drove to Coronado.  Wasn't warm enough to swim at this point, but we saw the ocean and explored the hotel.  Had lunch at in & out again-ordering like the locals do!  Hit the pool that afternoon and went to Seaport Village before having dinner at Ortega's-another mexican restaurant!  (hey, don't judge-the mexican was very very good!!!)

Friday, we hit the pool one more time and found Lolitas taco shop, Paul's co-workers favorite place before heading to the airport.  It was a memorable week of love, joy, laughter and fun with the kids!
