Anna's Birthday Party

We had Anna's birthday party a week early to allow for a family day on her actual birthday. The party was at our house this year and was a Tinkerbell theme. It was a small party-with 9 girls including Anna and 2 boys (Alex & cousin Logan). Tinkerbell arrived shortly after the guests arrived...watching the girls huddled up at the door as she came in from her car was my favorite moment of the day. Anna requested cupcakes for her birthday. I made strawberry cupcakes with yellow frosting, decorated them with sprinkles (pixie dust) and flowers to go with the theme.
When Tinkerbell arrived, she read a story to the kids. All the girls were fairies and all the boys (Alex and Logan) were pirates. Every time, she read "Tinkerbell", the girls flew around and every time she read "pirates", the boys were supposed to make pirate sounds. Here's Alex in his pirate costume.

Here's Tinkerbell reading to all the girls. Mesmerized. Her singing was amazing!!

After story time, Tinkerbell painted all the girl's faces. Most girls did a fairy design. Here's Katelyn with her design and Tinkerbell.

Anna was brave enough to get her face painted too--got a butterfly

Alex got a bug on his hand. Do you think she loves him as much as we do or what?

Here are all the girlsand Logan (Alex just didn't want to be in the group picture)--Katelyn, Maya, Logan and Brooklyn hanging on to Grandma in the front. Anna, Emily, Anna R., Teagan, Libby and Marissa in the back.

After face painting, Tinkerbell had to go to never never land. So, it was time for lunch...set up in the dining room for all the kids. We had finger food--this was Anna's idea that she came up with and has been planning since New Years. We served pigs in a blanket, mini pizzas on crackers and grilled cheese and fruit skewers. And, cupcakes for dessert! The girls had worked up an appetite and loved the finger food and the cupcakes!!
